Ray Quartermus's Biography
From the age of 5 or 6 when I saw and understood, for the first time, movies
and the oncoming of Television, this was my dream. My brother and I
were always the entertainers of the family. Me with the jokes and pranks,
and him with the movie projector and the ability to reproduce all that we saw on film,
with his costumes and make-up.
Many years later it hit me. It was two weeks before my 40th birthday
and I was caught in a thought that frightened me. If I don’t do something about following
my dreams, would I live the rest of my life in regret? This was a thought I could
not live with so I took action.
After giving it all a good looking over, I decided to start with stand-up comedy. Why?
No cost. I didn’t have to have a manager, or an agent, or a resume, or any head shots.
All I needed was myself and 3 minutes of self produced jokes and observations.
My debut was at the world famous “Comedy Store” in Los Angeles, where so many comics had been
before me. So for about 3 years I honed my craft.
Then came my big break into commercials.
I attended a commercial workshop
a fellow comedian Bill Fox told me about.
After attending I got an agent, and landed my first national commercial for McDonalds. After that, I do a few
auditions and get hired for a TV show I never heard of at the time called “NYPD Blue”.
This is when my acting career
took off.
Since then I have worked with David Caruso, Mary Louse Parker, Kevin Bacon, Christian Slater,
Kyra Sedgwick, Jim Belushi, Academy Award Winner Rod Steiger, and many more.
I currently live in Las Vegas and do mostly commercials, along with one or two films a year.
I'm so excited to be working with people who share my dream of being an actor in TV, Movies, and
Commercials! In my Start Acting Now DVD, I share my years of experience with you.
Don't waste your time and money on something that might work. My method has a proven
track record of getting people results. I'll show you the correct and fastest way to get into
the business of film and TV. It's easier than you may think.
